Go for a bike ride!

Tuesday, January 11th, 2011

Today was a stay at the condo day. It got into the 70's and we wanted to make sure we spent the warmest weather of the trip poolside. Max loved that idea. Many days he wakes up asking to go back to the hotel to go swimming. My little fish. I digress, we found a bike built for four that had a basket up front to belongings and Max and took it for a spin. It was something like 12 for a half an hour and we joked "what if we wanted to use it longer" they rental lady laughed and said we wouldn't want it longer. So we start out on our 30 minute adventure and we could tell why you only want it for 30 minutes or less. It was heavy and hard to steer. We kept it out for the full 30 minutes just to make a point but it was a workout.
Tuesday night we went to Fantasia golf so we could cross that off our list to-do.

That was fun to see Max try another new sport. It also has us confirming his talent for hockey, as evidenced by the grip on the golf club and his amazing aim! Well that, and is quartering vertical!

Magic Kingdom!

Wednesday, January 12th, 2011

We started our day heading out to the Magic Kingdom to get as much of a full day there as we could. It was on the cool side again. To start we took the train from the front gate around back to Minnie and Mickey's house. we got in a fast line to get some pictures with the Moises then it was time for some rides!

I am pretty sure this is Max's first really roller coaster experience. He loved it and wanted to ride it again and again.

Finally when Robb had had enough we moved on....to the teacups!

We definitely make it spin. So well Max lost a slip on shoe! But we didn't realize that until we got in line for the race cars!

I got to run back and find the shoe, or hoped to find the shoe while the boys stood in line. Once the purple and black shoe was once again in my possession I got some secret shopping in and then returned the shoe to the rightful owner. Max really didn't care. He had cars on the brain.

Then we headed in to see a party parade and get some of our sweet moves out. I am pretty certain after that we headed to Space Mountain so Robb and dad could ride while Max got a snooze in, I waited with Max and Mom lugged all the way back to the car to get the sandwiches we packed. That was to walk to the front out to the monorail out to the trolley out to the car then back again. The guys went on Space Mountain twice in that time! Then we lunched. We partook in a few more rides and then made our way home.

It was another super long day. So glad Max got in a few naps here and there so I didn't have to feel like a bad mom. I think that the hopper pass is the way to go with small kids. I don't know how you could do it and get any of the experience you want out of it for the money!

Animal adventure

Monday, January 10th, 2011

Monday we decided to brave the weather predictions and head to Animal Kingdom. This pic is the Animal Kingdom tree. I love the decorations!

We started at the back with some of the "big" attractions and work our way out. The first thing we did was the safari. It was probably the best thing at Animal Kingdom, as well, at least from a pregnant persons perspective.

I think Disney did a great job trying to give the animals space and a habitat close to what they came from and they tried to make it seem like there wasn't anything between us and the animals as to make it safari-like but you could see the fancy electric fence system they had in place.

Next we found the big Tree. The carvings they made in the trunk are pretty neat and the theater inside was fun, too. It showed a "bugs life" 3-d show.

Here is a snap of my bug eyed friends! Soon after this we found the Mt. Everest roller-coaster which only the adult males wanted to try so my mom, Max and I wondered around to find our next great adventure and ended up finding lunch. We thought we had told the guys to call us when they were through but we realized half way into the meal they both didn't have cell phones on them so I went looking for them. I found the "people-watching" and brought them back quickly so our food wouldn't t get too cool. It helped that we got caught in a downpour. That always makes you move faster! Once we had full belly's we thought we had had enough of the rain. So, I went to throw our trays away and my mom freaked out thinking she left her cell phone on the tray. I immediately went dumpster diving. My entire family was laughing at me, so glad no one took a picture! Promptly after that we headed to the exit of the restaurant and the park. I guess a full belly was just what Max needed as he fell asleep in his daddy's arms. So off "home" we went for a napper.

After nap time, it was still wet outside but we thought we would hit up Downtown Disney, yet again. We found some dinner, some of Robb's must-have mini collectables and a sweet shop where you can custom make a remote car. They had Lightening McQueens and Mater and all sorts of other cars. I think it was called Ridemakerz. We spent a fair amount of time in there. We did not buy anything though. It was hard to Max and Robb out of there though. Later, back at the ranch we watched 'Dinner with Schmucks' and got to bed a little early. Forecast for tomorrow is beautiful!
